The 1895 Tecumseh north depot

Tecumseh’s second north depot, built in 1895.

Today marks the publishing of the first part of Edward Hodges’ history of the railroad of Tecumseh. The first part is a history of the Palmyra & Jacksonburgh Railroad, the north/south line which later became the New York Central’s Jackson Branch.

Ed wrote these historical monographs in the early 2000s and provided me with paper copies. He never published them, and they’ve sat in my files since that time. Last year I started the process of scanning the text and preparing them for publication, adding maps and photos.

Ed passed away in 2020. You can learn more about Ed and his life following this link. I hope you’ll enjoy his work.

UPDATE (October 20, 2023)—Part 2, covering the Michigan & Ohio Railroad (DT&M) has been published today.

UPDATE (November 10, 2023—Part 3, covering the Detroit & Lima Northern Railroad has been published today.
