The weather was so mild tonight, I decided to go down to the Jackson depot and shoot a few images of westbound Amtrak 355. I used the iPhone on a tripod for the photography, because I wanted to see how well it would do after dark.
After looking at the photos on my desktop computer, I noticed that tonight’s images looked amazingly similar to my 1966 photos of New York Central’s westbound Twilight Limited. The NYC train was on a similar schedule as the present day Amtrak 355.
I must confess though, guys…I purposely set up the iPhone and tripod in similar locations at the end of our Jackson depot platform. Even though the iPhone shot the images in color, I purposely converted the images to black & white, just to see how much or how little the scene had changed. Amazingly, it hasn’t changed much in just over 58 years! I guess history does repeat itself…sort of!
