Norfolk & Western caboose #555004 was photographed by Edward Hodges at track speed on an eastbound freight headed for Detroit, Michigan on 05 March 1977.

The exact location is not noted, but is thought to be east of Adrian, Mich., near Raisin Center.

One hundred class C-32P cabooses were built in the 1970s, and they were the last cabooses built for the N&W and the last cabooses built by the International Car Company in Kenton, Ohio.

The car was photographed still on the NS roster in 2023.
