On a snowy day in early 1988, New York Central caboose #21692 awaits its next move on the Southern Michigan Railroad at Clinton, Michigan.
I was trying to recreate a vintage railroad scene here, so I included the Lake Shore & Michigan Railroad switch stand, together with a switch broom to show the battle with the snow. The caboose wears NYC electric marker lights as well. In retrospect, I should have lit the stove inside the caboose to add some smoke coming out the stack.
We had painted this N7A caboose less than a year earlier, in the spring of 1987, and it was looking good.
